Premium NZ Horse Minerals provide all the daily essential macro and trace minerals, with their co-factors, to compensate for horses confined behind fences being unable to forage a wide variety of plants.
This economical choice doesn't compromise on quality and is suitable for all equines, including donkeys. It improves overall health, immune function, coat colour, hoof quality and movement, and reduces susceptibility to frustrating conditions such as mud fever, sunburn, abscesses, sarcoids and viruses.
Best results are obtained alongside a high-fibre diet. Safe to feed to pregnant mares and youngstock.

Directions for Use: 15g per 100kg liveweight daily — e.g. 45g (3 tablespoons) for a 300kg pony, or 75g (5 tablespoons) for a 500kg horse (1 level tablespoon ≈ 15g). Use kitchen scales to weigh and mark your own replacement scoop for individual horses. Start with a little and build up to the full amount. Mix into dampened plain feeds such as oaten chaff, beet, linseed, sunflower and salt. We recommend wearing a mask when dispensing.
Selenium is included at a rate of 0.28mg per 15g (i.e. 1.4mg for a 500kg horse). Do not use at the same time as any other processed feed or product containing selenium, or any selenised fertiliser. Do not exceed the stated amount without veterinary advice.
A Non-Sel version is available for horses that need to reduce their selenium levels.

1. Daily Foundation - Overall Health & Longevity

Minerals, Vitamins & Amino Acids
The complete option — supplies every vitamin and mineral your horse needs, plus the amino acids that support overall health, immunity, top-line, and hoof quality.
Vitamins and minerals including 100% organic selenium, copper, zinc, chromium, sulphur and manganese. A good fit for horses, ponies and donkeys who don't need the extra amino acid support in Premium MVA.
A non-selenium option is also available.
2. For Grass-Related Issues
Adjust seasonallyHow much you need will vary with the season, the weather, and how much grass is around.
Helps balance the high potassium levels found in green grass. Dissolve in the water you use to wet the feed, and build up gradually following the back-label directions. Especially useful when you can't control your horse's access to grass.
For flare-ups. While you're building up GrazeEzy, feed SOS at the high dose to get more serious issues under control. Once your horse is back to normal, gradually taper the amount down and keep some on hand for next time.
An advanced formula for horses showing:
- Muscle tightness, anxiety or excitability
- Skin sensitivity, girthiness, twitching, ear-shyness or head-flicking
- Gait issues - loss of co-ordination, staggering, or dragging toes
- Hallucinating, spookiness, claustrophobia, aggressiveness, light sensitivity, puffiness or swelling
Supports nerve and muscle function for top performance. For some horses, even the small dose makes a real difference to their demeanour when grass is a challenge.

The thermoneutral zone is the temperature range where the body can maintain its core temperature with little to no extra energy expenditure. For humans, this range is quite narrow at 21–28 °C, but for horses it’s much broader at 5–25 °C.
This difference means we should avoid rugging horses based on how cold we feel. Over-rugging can lead to serious health issues, including metabolic problems and thermoregulatory dysfunction.
Tips for Choosing a Winter Rug Weight

Clipped horses may need a heavier gram fill to stay comfortable.

Remember: horses warm themselves more easily than they cool down under a rug. If unsure, choose a lighter rug.

Check your horse regularly to make sure they are neither too hot nor too cold.

Consider your horse’s age and natural ability to stay warm.

As a general guide, rugging is usually appropriate when temperatures drop below 5–10 °C, but always adjust for your horse’s individual needs.

Always ensure rugs are waterproof. A wet rug is worse than no rug at all.
