A milk substitute for kittens — orphans, large litters, or when the queen's milk isn't keeping up.
Formulated to match queen's milk rather than being a general-purpose pet milk, with elevated taurine. That last part matters: taurine is essential for vision, heart and brain development in cats, and it's the thing most improvised substitutes get wrong.
Typical analysis
- Protein 43%, fat 27%, ash 5%, moisture 4%
- Energy 21 MJ/kg
- Whole milk solids, whey proteins, casein, taurine, vegetable oils, omega 3 and 6, plus a full vitamin and mineral pack
Mixing
For 30ml: one level scoop (6.5g) with 25ml warm water. For 1 litre: 215g powder with 850ml warm water. Make a paste first, then add the rest — don't overheat it or it curdles. Keeps 24 hours in the fridge, two weeks frozen.
Feeding
Warm to about 35°C and feed from a bottle. Every 2 hours for the first 3 days, 4-hourly by the end of week one, 6-hourly by week two. Start weaning onto softened kitten food around 4 weeks, fully weaned by 8.

The thermoneutral zone is the temperature range where the body can maintain its core temperature with little to no extra energy expenditure. For humans, this range is quite narrow at 21–28 °C, but for horses it’s much broader at 5–25 °C.
This difference means we should avoid rugging horses based on how cold we feel. Over-rugging can lead to serious health issues, including metabolic problems and thermoregulatory dysfunction.
Tips for Choosing a Winter Rug Weight

Clipped horses may need a heavier gram fill to stay comfortable.

Remember: horses warm themselves more easily than they cool down under a rug. If unsure, choose a lighter rug.
