WeatherBeeta Turnout Rug Limited Warranty
In addition to any rights and remedies available under law, Weathebeeta New Zealand provides owners of the WeatherBeeta Turnout Rug with the following warranty . The WeatherBeeta Warranty is effective from the date of purchase of the WeatherBeeta Turnout Rug, and may be used by any person who subsequently acquires the WeatherBeeta Turnout Rug during the Warranty Period, as long as such person can provide proof of purchase in the form of the original purchase receipt.
What is covered under the WeatherBeeta Warranty?
If the WeatherBeeta Turnout Rug is found to have a fault in the outer shell fabric, the waterproofness, the breathability of the outer fabric, or other faulty materials or workmanship, within 3 years after the date of purchase from WeatherBeeta or an authorized WeatherBeeta retailer, WeatherBeeta will at its option, repair or replace the Turnout Rug at no cost.
A repair or replacement under the WeatherBeeta Warranty does not extend the Turnout Rug Warranty Period, which continues to run from the date of original purchase.
This WeatherBeeta Warranty applies only to WeatherBeeta Turnout Rugs that have been bought and returned within New Zealand.
What is not covered under the WeatherBeeta Warranty?
The WeatherBeeta Warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear
- Accidental damage, and faults caused by negligent use or lack of care or neglect
- Damage caused by use for anything other than equestrian protective use outdoors
- Damage caused by use of parts or accessories other than those produced or recommended for use with and in a WeatherBeeta Turnout Rug
- Damage caused by repairs or alterations carried out by third parties not in accordance with WeatherBeeta recommendations
- The fit of the Turnout Rug on any particular horse
- Damage caused by improperly laundering of your WeatherBeeta Turnout Rug
- Associated transport costs
How to Make a Warranty Claim
To make a claim under the WeatherBeeta Warranty, please contact the retailer from whom the Turnout Rug was purchased.
Take the original purchase receipt and the Turnout Rug, to the WeatherBeeta retailer. To receive service, you must provide the purchase receipt.

We carry limited stock in-store, so we encourage customers to place orders online to secure the items they’d like to try. Simply select “Pay on Pickup” at checkout, and we’ll bring the product into store for you (excludes saddles).
Once your order arrives, you’re welcome to try it on or inspect it in person. There’s absolutely no obligation to purchase—if it’s not quite right, you can leave it with us, no problem at all. If you do decide to keep it, payment can be completed in store at the time of pickup.

The thermoneutral zone is the temperature range where the body can maintain its core temperature with little to no extra energy expenditure. For humans, this range is quite narrow at 21–28 °C, but for horses it’s much broader at 5–25 °C.
This difference means we should avoid rugging horses based on how cold we feel. Over-rugging can lead to serious health issues, including metabolic problems and thermoregulatory dysfunction.
Tips for Choosing a Winter Rug Weight

Clipped horses may need a heavier gram fill to stay comfortable.

Remember: horses warm themselves more easily than they cool down under a rug. If unsure, choose a lighter rug.

Check your horse regularly to make sure they are neither too hot nor too cold.

Consider your horse’s age and natural ability to stay warm.

As a general guide, rugging is usually appropriate when temperatures drop below 5–10 °C, but always adjust for your horse’s individual needs.

Always ensure rugs are waterproof. A wet rug is worse than no rug at all.
