A 185g solid shampoo bar made in New Zealand for horses — and it works just as well on a dog. No parabens, sulphates, synthetic fragrances or colours, and nothing to spill in a float or a grooming kit.
What's in it
Saponified sustainable palm and coconut oils with vegetable glycerin, plus neem oil and pure manuka, kanuka and lemon myrtle essential oils — the combination that brings the antibacterial, antifungal and insect-repelling side of it. Titanium dioxide gives the whitening and brightening that shows up on greys and socks.
What it's for
Mild skin trouble — mud fever, scald, heat rash, mild eczema and the like — and general washing where you want a clean coat without stripping it. Worth trying before you move to a medicated shampoo.
How to use a bar
Wet the coat thoroughly, then either rub the bar straight on or work up a lather in your hands first. Add water, massage through, and rinse well. Stand the bar somewhere it can drain and it'll go a long way — a bar this size outlasts several bottles.

The thermoneutral zone is the temperature range where the body can maintain its core temperature with little to no extra energy expenditure. For humans, this range is quite narrow at 21–28 °C, but for horses it’s much broader at 5–25 °C.
This difference means we should avoid rugging horses based on how cold we feel. Over-rugging can lead to serious health issues, including metabolic problems and thermoregulatory dysfunction.
Tips for Choosing a Winter Rug Weight

Clipped horses may need a heavier gram fill to stay comfortable.

Remember: horses warm themselves more easily than they cool down under a rug. If unsure, choose a lighter rug.
