A high-calorie gel for animals that need condition on them quickly, or that simply won't eat.
It's very palatable, which is the whole trick — an animal off its food will usually lick this off a finger or a paw when it won't touch a bowl. Useful for picky eaters, young stock, nursing mothers, dogs coming back from surgery or illness, hard-working and hunting dogs, and older animals dropping condition.
What's in it
Corn syrup, soybean oil, malt syrup, fish oil, cod liver oil and hydrolysed soy protein, with vitamins A, D3, E and the B group, plus iron, magnesium and potassium iodide.
How to give it
- To stimulate appetite during recovery — 10g per 5kg bodyweight daily
- As a primary energy source — 15g per 5kg bodyweight daily, or as required
Off a finger, in a dish, smeared on the paws, or straight into the mouth. The tube has an aluminium seal under the cap — take it off before the first use.

The thermoneutral zone is the temperature range where the body can maintain its core temperature with little to no extra energy expenditure. For humans, this range is quite narrow at 21–28 °C, but for horses it’s much broader at 5–25 °C.
This difference means we should avoid rugging horses based on how cold we feel. Over-rugging can lead to serious health issues, including metabolic problems and thermoregulatory dysfunction.
Tips for Choosing a Winter Rug Weight

Remember: horses warm themselves more easily than they cool down under a rug. If unsure, choose a lighter rug.
