Stabilised vitamin C tablets for guinea pigs, rabbits, chinchillas and other small pets, on a base of high-fibre Timothy hay.
Guinea pigs can't make their own vitamin C — they're one of the few mammals in that boat alongside humans — and a shortfall shows up as a poor coat, sore joints and reluctance to move. Worth having on hand any time an animal is stressed, unwell or recovering, when requirements climb.
What's in it
Timothy grass, barley flour, oat groat flour, L-Ascorbyl-2-Monophosphate (the stabilised form of vitamin C), flaxseed meal, brewer's dried yeast, and rosemary extract as a natural preservative.
How to feed
- Rabbits, guinea pigs and chinchillas — one tablet daily, whatever their weight
- Rats and degus — quarter of a tablet daily
The stabilised form is the point: ordinary vitamin C degrades fast once a pellet or a bottle of water is opened, so what's on the label isn't what the animal gets. This one holds its potency.

The thermoneutral zone is the temperature range where the body can maintain its core temperature with little to no extra energy expenditure. For humans, this range is quite narrow at 21–28 °C, but for horses it’s much broader at 5–25 °C.
This difference means we should avoid rugging horses based on how cold we feel. Over-rugging can lead to serious health issues, including metabolic problems and thermoregulatory dysfunction.
Tips for Choosing a Winter Rug Weight

Clipped horses may need a heavier gram fill to stay comfortable.

Remember: horses warm themselves more easily than they cool down under a rug. If unsure, choose a lighter rug.

Check your horse regularly to make sure they are neither too hot nor too cold.

As a general guide, rugging is usually appropriate when temperatures drop below 5–10 °C, but always adjust for your horse’s individual needs.
