Nikwax Rug Waterproofer

Nikwax Rug Proof adds Durable Water Repellency (DWR) whilst maintaining breathability. It is quick and easy to apply in the washing machine, and its DWR develops on air drying.

Nikwax Rug Proof leaves a flexible water repellent treatment on individual fibres, allowing moisture vapour to pass through, maintaining breathability, while protecting your animal from getting wet in the rain.

Finally, washing machine application ensures that the treatment goes right through the rug or coat, treating seams, tapes and cords, as well as the fabric.

Always check your washing machines maximum weight limit before washing rugs. For large items we recommend using a commercial laundromat.

Uses per bottle:

• Approximately 500ml needed per rug

How to Use:

For best results always clean rug first with Nikwax Rug Wash. No need to dry item(s) before waterproofing. It is vital that rugs are washed and rinsed thoroughly. Shake well before use. Follow care label instructions.

Front Loading Machine Wash Only

1. Remove all detergent build-up from the detergent dispenser
2. Place clean rug in washing machine
3. Use 500 ml for 1 rug. Treat 1 rug per load
4. Run 30?C cotton cycle
5. Air dry or tumble dry on a low setting if care label allows

Hand Wash (use gloves)

1. Use 500ml for 1 rug with 10L hand-hot water in vessel
2. Agitate to mix, push down into vessel so that whole rug is immersed
3. Add a further 15L of warm water to cover rug and agitate
4. Leave to soak for 2 hours, agitating occasionally
5. Rinse in cold water until water runs clear

Sponge Application (use gloves)

1. Spread clean rug on clean area and wet thoroughly with a hose
2. Use 500ml for 1 rug, with 1.5L hand-hot water
3. Using a new sponge apply solution to rug, working into fabric and seams
4. Use any surplus on back area of rug, leave for 5 - 10 minutes
5. Rinse in cold water until water runs clear
