A thick mānuka honey gel for moderate to severe wounds — the tube that should live in your first aid kit and in the float.
What it is
100% pure medical-grade New Zealand mānuka honey, sterile and filtered, independently certified at greater than 500 MG (methylglyoxal). That MG rating is what does the work — it's the measure of mānuka's antibacterial strength, and 500+ is a serious grade rather than a table honey with a sticker on it.
Why a honey gel
It covers and protects the wound, bandaged or not, while it heals. The thickness is the point — it stays where you put it rather than running off, which matters on a leg.
Sizes
The 20g is float and kit-sized. The 50g and 100g suit a wound you'll be dressing for a while.
For minor cuts and grazes. Anything deep, heavily contaminated, or near a joint or tendon sheath needs your vet the same day — honey is a dressing, not a substitute for stitching or antibiotics.

The thermoneutral zone is the temperature range where the body can maintain its core temperature with little to no extra energy expenditure. For humans, this range is quite narrow at 21–28 °C, but for horses it’s much broader at 5–25 °C.
This difference means we should avoid rugging horses based on how cold we feel. Over-rugging can lead to serious health issues, including metabolic problems and thermoregulatory dysfunction.
Tips for Choosing a Winter Rug Weight

Clipped horses may need a heavier gram fill to stay comfortable.

Remember: horses warm themselves more easily than they cool down under a rug. If unsure, choose a lighter rug.

As a general guide, rugging is usually appropriate when temperatures drop below 5–10 °C, but always adjust for your horse’s individual needs.
