A pill gun: a plastic plunger that places a tablet at the back of the throat without your fingers going near the teeth.
It suits cats, which are difficult to tablet by hand, and dogs that have learnt to eat the cheese and spit out the pill.
How to use it
Load the tablet into the soft tip. Tilt the head back so the nose points at the ceiling, which opens the jaw on its own. Slide the piller over the tongue, past the hump at the back, and press the plunger. Close the mouth, hold it briefly, and stroke the throat or blow gently on the nose to trigger a swallow.
Follow with a small syringe of water or a little food. A tablet that sits in a cat's oesophagus can cause real trouble, so make sure it goes down.

The thermoneutral zone is the temperature range where the body can maintain its core temperature with little to no extra energy expenditure. For humans, this range is quite narrow at 21–28 °C, but for horses it’s much broader at 5–25 °C.
This difference means we should avoid rugging horses based on how cold we feel. Over-rugging can lead to serious health issues, including metabolic problems and thermoregulatory dysfunction.
