The thermoneutral zone is the temperature range where the body can maintain its core temperature with little to no extra energy expenditure. For humans, this range is quite narrow at 21–28 °C, but for horses it’s much broader at 5–25 °C.
This difference means we should avoid rugging horses based on how cold we feel. Over-rugging can lead to serious health issues, including metabolic problems and thermoregulatory dysfunction.
Tips for Choosing a Winter Rug Weight

Flax seed fibre, Citristim yeast mannan containing beta-glucans, inulin, Protexin multi-strain probiotic, slippery elm powder, Mycofix Plus 5.E (A11328), Vistacell live yeast, L-glutamine, garlic flavour.
Daily Feeding Recommendation (scoop enclosed holds approx. 25g):
2 week loading or acute cases – 1 scoop per 1kg of hard feed
Maintenance - ½ scoop per 1kg of hard feed
Storage Guidelines:
Store in a cool, dry dark place in original packing and avoid direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with eyes. Avoid inhalation. Once opened, reseal and use within 3 months.
