An antibacterial and antifungal medicated shampoo for dogs, cats and horses — the milder version of the Malaseb most people know.
The two actives are 2% chlorhexidine gluconate and 2% miconazole nitrate, so it covers both the bacterial and the yeast side of a skin problem. Yeasty paws, greasy patches and the smell that comes with them are the classic case for it. It cleanses and conditions as it goes, which the standard Malaseb is less kind about.

How to use it
- Wet the coat thoroughly
- Apply at several points and massage in — about 1–2ml per kg of bodyweight
- Leave it on for 10 minutes — this is the step people skip, and it's the one that does the work. Stay with the animal.
- Rinse thoroughly with clean water
If the skin isn't improving after a couple of weeks, it's worth having your vet take a look. Persistent skin problems usually have an underlying cause — an allergy, or an infection that needs treating systemically — and that's best identified before working through more product.

The thermoneutral zone is the temperature range where the body can maintain its core temperature with little to no extra energy expenditure. For humans, this range is quite narrow at 21–28 °C, but for horses it’s much broader at 5–25 °C.
This difference means we should avoid rugging horses based on how cold we feel. Over-rugging can lead to serious health issues, including metabolic problems and thermoregulatory dysfunction.
Tips for Choosing a Winter Rug Weight

Remember: horses warm themselves more easily than they cool down under a rug. If unsure, choose a lighter rug.
