Introducing our premium Show Range for Horses & Hounds. A Hot Oil Coat Treatment for Horses
A natural intensive hot oil coat treatment with essential oils of Rosemary, Calendula, & Chamomile. 100% natural.
Coconut and plant-based oil treatment enhanced with Vitamin E & Argan Oil. Replenishes moisture and shine on dry coats and protects from sweat and dirt build up. A 'must have' as part of a regular grooming routine. Effective healing formula for sunburn and or dry/flakey skin. Suitable for horses & hounds of all coat types and colours.
Application:
Hot Cloth: approximately 10 squirts into 4L of warm water. Use cloth to wipe over the horse's body, perfect for after clipping or a pre show glow. Deep Conditioning Treatment: can be diluted to your preference in a solution of cold-hot water (warm is always recommended). A general rule of thumb is a minimum of 100-150ml of oil to 8-10 litres of water in a bucket. Pour over coat from head to tail. Do not rinse off. Longer coats will generally need less oil/water ratio.

Every day grooming spray: Put 2-3 capfuls (roughly a 1/10 ratio) of hot oil in a spray bottle and top with water, shake to mix well. Great to use every day, brush it in or rub into the coat.

The thermoneutral zone is the temperature range where the body can maintain its core temperature with little to no extra energy expenditure. For humans, this range is quite narrow at 21–28 °C, but for horses it’s much broader at 5–25 °C.
This difference means we should avoid rugging horses based on how cold we feel. Over-rugging can lead to serious health issues, including metabolic problems and thermoregulatory dysfunction.
Tips for Choosing a Winter Rug Weight

Clipped horses may need a heavier gram fill to stay comfortable.

Remember: horses warm themselves more easily than they cool down under a rug. If unsure, choose a lighter rug.

Check your horse regularly to make sure they are neither too hot nor too cold.

Consider your horse’s age and natural ability to stay warm.

As a general guide, rugging is usually appropriate when temperatures drop below 5–10 °C, but always adjust for your horse’s individual needs.
