zilco-fulmer-fm-snaffle
Zilco Fulmer (FM) Snaffle

Also called a Fulmer bit or Australian loose ring cheek snaffle. The long cheeks press against the sides of the muzzle through a turn and stop the bit being pulled through the mouth, which makes it a clear, kind steering aid for a young horse. Left free the cheeks simply guide, and with FM keepers fitted the bit also works on the sides of the bars for a bit more pressure. The loose rings let the mouthpiece move, unlike a full cheek eggbutt.

Stainless steel

Long cheeks give lateral control and stop the bit sliding through the mouth

Loose rings allow movement of the mouthpiece

Can be run with or without FM keepers, sold separately

Mouth thickness 14mm

Cheek length 165mm

Available in 11.5cm (4 1/2 inch), 12.5cm (5 inch) and 14cm (5 1/2 inch)
